Happy New Year! Welcome Back!

Academics:

Credit Recovery's second session will end on Thursday, January 8th at 3:30 PM. Students must have finished all units in their course in order to take the final exam. The final must be taken in the lab (Ms. Kourtakis' room) under the supervision of the academic coaches. The third session's enrollment and payment deadline is Friday, January 16th. Juniors!!! Get ready for the ACT. ACT preparation classes are available on January 24th, February 7th, February 14th, or February 28th. You only need to attend one class. Please see the flyer for more details.

Need a VPA credit? Want to learn real life skills that will last you a life time? Interested in working on our school's website? Then you should take Web Design! For more information check out their website.

Community:

Warren Mott Boosters host Charity Bingo every Wednesday night at Rosemack Bingo Hall (20791 E 13 Mile Rd in Roseville). Doors open at 4:00, ticket sales start at 5:30, bingo begins at 6:30.  You can support the Boosters either by playing or by volunteering (contact vonstott@aol.com to volunteer). We hope to see you there!

Extra Curricular:

Warren Mott has been invited to this year's Annual National MathCON competition! MathCON is a popular math competition for students grades 5-12, and consists of two rounds of testing. Students have the opportunity to win cash prizes for participating! Students can sign up in the main office. More information on the event can be found here.

Warren Mott is hosting a charity drive for the fight against prostate cancer! Donations will be taken during all three lunches. Check out this informational video.

There are two upcoming opportunities for students and parents to hear more about the MAT2 program for graduating seniors interested in a “full ride” in mechatronics, CAD, or I.T.  MEDC will be holding a webinar on December 17th. Get ready for Marauder Madness! Marauder Madness is an upcoming fundraiser for our basketball program. Featuring our dance and cheerleading team, and our band, there will be prizes, games, and a varsity basketball scrimmage! The fundraiser will take place Wednesday, December 17, at 6:00pm in the Warren Mott gym. Tickets are $2, or $1 with a Student ID. 

Congratulations to Joshua Lee Train who took first place in the piano division at the annual MAC Open Invitational Fall Classic! There were 448 student participants from Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties. Great job Josh!

Welcome to our first Warren Mott Weekly Update! This is your place to find out all of Warren Mott's current happenings.

To kick things off, we'd like to congratulate Mr. Karromi and his first hour class for winning this year's National Honor Society Canned Food Drive! Overall, NHS donated over 1,200 cans to a very appreciative group at the Warren-Sterling Goodfellow's Community Pantry. 

Sports:

Mott alumnus Lavonte Perdue became ranked 7th in his weight class in the national Junior College wrestling bracket. Congratulations!  

Members of the WM football team have been awarded numerous post-season awards! Congratulations to them! Here is the full list of awards and the players who earned them.

WCS School Nurse Julia Lechtenberg comes to us with a message on how to stay healthy during the holidays. You can find her notes here. 

Events:

On Tuesday, December 16, NHS will be hosting the Annual Military Family Dinner. Reservations are due Monday, December 8. The dinner is at 5:30 pm in the Warren Mott Cafeteria.

Also this Tuesday, NHS will collect paper recycling bins. 

This Wednesday, December 10, there will be a NHS Membership Meeting at 2:30pm. Members should wear their NHS gear for a group picture.  

This Saturday, December 13, the Warren Mott Cheerleading team is hosting this year's Breakfast with Santa event. Bring your family for a hot breakfast, holiday crafts, and a visit from Santa Claus! The event will start at 9:00am and will go until 12:00pm. $5 for a person to get in, and $20 for a family to get in. All proceeds benefit the WM Cheerleading team! The event will take place in the Warren Mott Cafeteria.
